The primary stability is a key factor for the implant success. The development of the surgical protocol takes into
account the different degrees of hardness of the bone, in order to achieve high stability with all types of bone
density. Typically, bone quality falls under the following categories:
• Type I : The entire jaw is constituted by a compact and homogeneous bone.
• Type II : A thick layer of compact bone surrounds a nucleus of trabecular bone.
• Type III : A thin layer of cortical bone surrounds a nucleus of dense trabecular bone which has an adequate
resistance..
• Type IV : A very thin layer of cortical bone surrounds a nucleus of low-density trabecular bone.
• In case of bone whit high-density
(hard) the implant cavity is enlarged in
order to allow an atraumatic threading.
• In case of bone with low- density
(soft) it is suggested to prepare an
under-dimensioned cavity, in order to
increase the primary stability with the
compression
The following drilling procedure represents the most common protocol for FLOtecno implants placement,
This procedure refers to the insertion of a 15 mm-long implant.
Ours drills do not have internal irrigation, it is therefore necessary to cool down their temperature during
drilling. All drills have the short and the long version and both are provided with depth reference incisions.
FLOtecno surgical kits are designed to contain and make immediately available, under sterile conditions, all
the components for the surgical intervention.
